My final.say...

 20th February 2025     -                 My final Say....

This week, I have been shocked, but grateful to notice that my chemo blogs have reached over 5,000 readers!

I began blogging to help myself, and others whilst going through Chemotherapy in 2021

Last week, I attended the funeral of my dear friend , Paulette, who started me off with my blog page and one week later, I wanted to share a few thoughts after the amazing send off her family and friends gave her ( so well deserved!)

On hearing the news of her death just before Christmas, I had the same thoughts of probably everyone who knew her, "Why does this happen so suddenly, and to a person who is doing (and has done) so much for others?" Paulette's life was dedicated to helping others and raising so much money and bringing hope to  charities (the above photo was taken to promote her jam sales for 'Angel Tree' (worth going on their website and reading about their work!)

However, The answer to my initial question can not be answered ! We will never know the reason why young people/ good people/ 'Godly' people are taken from us too soon.

I have always seen our lives as BOOKS - some are long-winded and we wonder after reading it, what on earth it was all about! some are short, but the content is so worthwhile and helpful

(Note - these are not my choice of books!)

For Paulette, taken at only age 64, her life was fairly short, but so full of positive content and help for others. As i look around the packed-out church at her funeral, I can't help but imagine all the stories of the people there whose lives had been impacted by her. I felt so grateful that I had three years of friendship with this amazing, positive and encouraging friend, who had helped and supported me with so many aspects of my life.

Going back to my book thoughts, I feel I have now finished a 'chapter' in my own life-book.

When reading, we can't stop at one chapter forever, we need to continue to reach the end of the story. For Paulette, her 'book' &  story is finished and she has left so many memories for family and friends !

My first LIVE radio show (I knew Paulette would make me feel less                                                                                                               nervous)

This is a bitter-sweet blog, I am so grateful that over 5,000 people have potentially been impacted through my positive and (hopefully) helpful thoughts, but I know it is time to move on to the next adventure whatever that will be .. and I know for sure God will send me the person/ people I need for my journey!

Time to move on and be grateful ..

I love this quote and hope you find the friends to bring out the best in you, too, just like I did!

RIP Paulette
